I, Galileo Galilei, have committed no crime as I have based my theories and justifications on pure evidence and observations. Here, I ask that the Church revoke its statement on my so-called "wrong-doing" and "radical outbursts" for I do not deserve such accusations and nor am I wrong. I deeply regret that I have to make such a proclamation, but I have committed no crime and shall therefore prove of my innocence and my beliefs. I shall make no abjurations for I believe my theories and ideas to be justified and they withhold the truth.
The knowledge of the Universe and the world around us shouldn't simply be dismissed or stop progressing, instead our knowledge should be broadened and our discoveries should never seek to end. Humans were created with a privilege that differentiates us from other organisms, and that is the thirst for knowledge and the ability to reach for it. I believe everyone should aim to expand their knowledge on the world around us and record it, and teach it. The Universe around us is vast and waiting for us to discover its hidden secrets. My idea started with an inspiration, as all ideas came from. The importance of broadening our visions and remaining open-minded should not be understated or disregarded.
Nicolas Copernicus proposed a wild--or perhaps it isn't wild, not at all--theory that Earth was, in fact, not the center of the Universe but that the sun was. Our knowledge of the Universe is narrow, and it shouldn't stop there. There is much more that we do not know and I believe--through careful observations of the planets and the behaviors--that the Earth is one of the planets that revolves around the sun. I believe rather than believing in the traditional and outdated, we should focus on the future, keep moving forward, aspire to be innovative and rational.
The Bible was not created for us to interpret the formation of the Universe, but to teach us about our salvation and life. In fact, it should be a motivation for us to explore and discover. We were created by God to not only pass down offspring, but to discover and spread knowledge. We were meant to learn about our world and Universe, we were created with the passion for learning and the capacity to be innovative and create.
I, Galileo Galileo, do not accept the abjurations against me nor do I believe in the Church's geocentric theories. The idea is out-dated and proven to be preposterous; and I advise everyone to think rationally and support my theory, which is the real truth behind the vast Universe.
